Seven steps from a local need to a working chapter. Open any step on the right to read what it involves. Most chapters move through the first five in their first season.
Start with what you can see: neighbors who are isolated, students without supplies, an event nobody is organizing, a decision residents were never asked about.
A small founding group of youth and one adult advisor apply. We read it, talk with the advisor, and make sure the host community, school, or organization is on board.
Chapters get the handbook, meeting and project templates, outreach language, safety and nonpartisanship standards, and someone to call when they're stuck.
Service projects, community events, outreach, intergenerational programs, drives. Planned and led by youth, supervised by adults.
Every project collects feedback and reports numbers the same way, so a figure from one chapter means the same thing as one from another.
Members learn how local institutions actually work: running a meeting, speaking in public, finishing a project, working with adults as partners.
Chapters work with HOA boards, school bodies, and town committees to create real roles for young people in local decisions. This one takes years, and it happens one institution at a time.
