Youth Safety Statement
Young people lead our chapters. Keeping them safe while they do it is a condition of every activity we run.
Last updated: August 2, 2026
Our commitments
- Every chapter activity has at least one approved adult advisor present.
- No adult has one-to-one private contact with a young person who is not their own child.
- Communication with youth members happens in group channels with an adult included.
- Participation is voluntary, and any member may step back at any time without penalty.
- We collect only the personal information an activity genuinely requires.
Adult advisors
Every chapter names an adult advisor aged 21 or older who is contacted before a chapter is approved. Advisors are expected to be present for activities and to comply with any screening, background check, or supervision requirement imposed by the host school, HOA, or partner organization. Where a host site's requirements are stricter than ours, the host site's requirements apply.
Conduct standards
Bullying, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and substance use at chapter activities are prohibited for everyone involved - youth, advisors, and partners. Our full standards are published in the Youth Safety and Conduct Guide available on the Resources page.
Privacy and imagery
- We obtain consent before photographing identifiable participants and honor any refusal.
- We do not publish a minor's full name alongside their image without guardian consent.
- We never publish a resident's address, phone number, or email.
- Press and media requests are handled centrally, not by individual chapters.
Reporting a concern
If someone is in immediate danger, call emergency services first. Then report the concern to the chapter's adult advisor and to YouthConnect Network at admin@youthconnect.network the same day. We do not retaliate against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
